Created in 1957 by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC), the Admiral’s Cup was one of the most prestigious offshore sailing competitions in the world. Nicknamed the ‘World Cup of Team Offshore Racing,’ it made its comeback in 2025 after a 22-year hiatus. Fifteen international teams competed in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight (United Kingdom), in a format combining inshore regattas and offshore races.
After eight particularly demanding races, including the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race, the Monaco team won with a total of 68 points, ahead of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (84 points) and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (92 points).
This victory was a historic moment for the Monaco Yacht Club, which was participating in this legendary event for the very first time.
For its first participation in the Admiral’s Cup, the Yacht Club de Monaco has entered two high-performance yachts, crewed by an international and experienced team.
This project was born out of the desire of Pierre Casiraghi, vice-president of the Y.C.M., to promote Monaco in one of the biggest offshore sailing competitions.
